The City Government of Marikina thru the Community Relations Office will once again hold the Marikina City Stiletto Race “Tour de Takong” on November 26, 2016 (Saturday), 3:00 PM at Teatro Marikina, Barangay Sta. Elena, Marikina City, this activity is one of the highlights in celebration of Marikina Sapatos Festival 2016.
This year’s Tour de Takong theme is “Star Gazing” in line with the Christmas Festival in our city. Participants are encouraged to dress like a superstar or wear their uniforms according to their profession.
Primarily, this event focuses on the stiletto shoes to test its durability and style. This event will also signify an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the triumph of women while calling and working for gender equality. It is also about surmounting challenges by focusing on what needs to be done to achieve gender equality by raising the consciousness and understanding of men on the plight of women and call attention on how society, economy and culture put women at a disadvantage.

“Stiletto Race of Marikina City”
RACE RULES
1. The race is open to all FILIPINO MALE OR FEMALE, AGES 18 and OLDER ONLY.
2. Stiletto of any kind and design can be used as long as the heel (takong) is at least 3 INCHES high (minimum height). Wedges and Cuban heels are not allowed.
3. Stilettos must not be taped to the foot. Both heels must be intact at the start of the race till the runner crosses the finish line.
4. Participants are encouraged to dress like a superstar or wear their uniforms according to their profession.
5. Previous winners are allowed to join, but not qualified to win in any Major Awards.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The age of participant, height and durability (must not broken) of the heels (takong) will be checked first (if it conforms to the RACE RULES) before declaring the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Judges’ decision is final. All winners’ shoes will be checked to verify eligibility at the finish line before the announcement.
RACE DETAILS:
1. Race will be held in Barangay Sta. Elena, Marikina City on November 26, 2016 (Saturday). Starting line is at Teatro Marikina and finish line is at Cityhood Park.
2. MALE and FEMALE WILL NOT RUN AT THE SAME TIME.
3. Check-in time will start at 3:00 PM. Gun Start: 4:30 PM
4. Participants may wear running shorts, tights, leggings or profession’s uniform but we encourage wearing anything fabulous, sexy and unique like a movie star.
5. Cash prizes and medals will be given to those who will be chosen for the following Special Awards:
a. Nakaka-TAKONG (tallest and unique stiletto, male & female, strictly Marikina-made)
b. Amazing SHOE-perstar (Wearing remarkable attire)
c. Male SHOE-perstar (Hunkiest and Hottest Runner)
d. Female SHOE-perstar (Prettiest and Sexiest Runner)
e. Top five (5) Star-alike runners
f. First five (5) finishers from uniformed personnel
g. Senior SHOE-perstar (Oldest Finisher, male & female)
h. Most Fabulous Stiletto (male and female, strictly Marikina-made)
6. Special Trophy and Cash Prizes will be given to the following winners:

7. Registration Forms are available at the Front Desk of MARIKINA CITY HALL LOBBY and COMMUNITY RELATIONS OFFICE.
8. For Walk-in participants, registration starts at 8:00 AM at Teatro Marikina. Any and all filled-out registration forms must be submitted to the organizers at least two (2) hours before the Gun Start. Participants must bring a Valid ID or any proof that he/she is 18 years old or older.
9. Race bibs will be given to registered participants and must be worn during the race.
10. REGISTRATION IS FREE.
